I first picked up the camera to make action sports videos but quickly ran into problems. For one, turning my hobby into a job made it feel like work. More importantly, the passion wasn't paying the bills.

I was constantly stressed about money and started looking for jobs. Two weeks later, I was being trained by my mentor Brandon, who hired me to help shoot for his RE media business. I gained valuable shooting skills under his mentorship, but moved after a few months and found myself on my own.

In a new town, I built my own business from scratch, reading every business book, watching hours of videos and trying every sales method under the sun to get clients. Other media companies weren't going to share their secret sauce, so there was no one to ask when I needed help.

Still I pushed through the challenges and began to see results. My business hit six-figures within the second year, and my work has been shared in the San Francisco Chronicle or Luxury Portfolio International.

I didn't start with a passion for this work but in the process of growth and striving to perfect the craft, I've come to love shooting real estate. Plus making my own schedule and earning a great income allows me to pursue my hobbies and invest more time into relationships than ever before.
